In Garforth…

Garforth Funfair is running at Glebelands Recreation Ground, LS25 1NT from Thursday this week until Sunday. The hours are as follows… Thursday 6-9pm, Friday 6-9pm, Saturday 1-8pm and Sunday 1-5pm. On Thursday rides are £2 each. On Saturday there will also apparently be a Transformers theme and a foam party. The poster also indicate that there will be games and refreshments.

Garforth Musical Society are running a musical singthrough of their upcoming pantomime ‘Jack and the Beanstalk’ on the 7th July at 8pm at the Garforth Methodist Church. This evening is for anyone who loves musical theatre, wants to volunteer for the upcoming production in any area (including tech and background roles), or has interest in auditioning.

The evening promises to be fun. Admission is free.

Tomorrow at Quirky Ales, LS25 2HG, there will be their once-a-monthly General Knowledge Quiz, starting at 7.30pm.

On Saturday, 27th June, from 10am to 2pm, there will be another charity car wash for the Fire Fighters Charity, carried out at Garforth Fire Station, LS25 2AN. This is an excellent way to support your community firefighters and The Garforth Gazette have run a story about them before, which you can find here!

The Podger, LS25 1NT, is now dog-friendly again and they accept dogs in the tapside area and the sports area.

Super Dragon Chinese takeaway, LS25 1JW, beloved by many, is set to reopen on the 2nd July following years of closure.

In Central Leeds…

On Saturday 27th June, at the University of Leeds there is a free family fun day called play up. It runs from 11am-3pm, and includes activities, workshops and performances for children under 10. These include gardening workshops, storytelling, a sound garden, Caribbean inspired dancing and music, beat boxing and a giant hippo! You can learn more here.
