Monday
Baby Sensory- Open to babies aged 0-13 months and their parents/guardians. This group offers activities like creative play and musical activity to develop babies’ senses. It has three sessions, 10-11am, 11.15-12.15pm, and 12.30-1.30pm on Mondays @ Firthfields Community Centre, LS25 2HD.
Songs & Smiles- Described on their website as an ‘intergenerational joyful music group for 0–4-year-olds, their grown-ups, and older people, held in care homes and assisted living schemes.’ The Garforth branch is free to attend with suggested donations, at 10.30-11.30am @ St. Armand’s Court Care Home, LS25 2NW. Café Connect- Open to all! A group where people can meet and chat, work and read, or learn a skill. It runs from 1-3pm on Mondays @ St. Mary’s Church, LS25 1NR.
U3a Chess Group- Open to new members who are retirees. This is a non-competitive group who help integrate beginners. All levels are welcome and activities include chess lessons, practice, and in-person and online games. The club runs every two weeks on Monday afternoons (the first and third of the month), from 2pm-4pm @ Garforth Library LS25 1EH.
Garforth Kenpo Karate- Look at the Wednesday post for details. Monday lessons are 6.30-7.30pm for Juniors, and 7.30-8.30pm for Seniors @ St. Benedict’s Church, LS25 1PX.
Garforth In Bloom- This group is open to everyone. This is a gardening group that helps tend to flower displays around the town, collects litter and tidies. Meetings run on the second Monday of the month, from 7.30pm onwards @ Barleyhill Working Men’s Club, LS25 1AU.
Garforth Camera Club- For the photography fanatics out there! This is a lively club that runs regular competitions and events, including talks with photographers and trips to other towns. It runs from 8-10pm on a Monday night @ Garforth Welfare Hall, LS25 1AA.
Andy’s Man Club- A peer support group for men. Offers tea and socialising! Runs at 7-9pm (excluding bank holidays) @ Bannister Prentice Community Stadium (Garforth Football Club), LS25 2PF.
Garforth and District Lions- A branch of the largest service organisation in the world. They meet regularly to plan fundraising and social events. They run from 8pm onwards, the first and third Mondays of the month @ Garforth Country Club, LS25 1PZ.
Tuesday
Garforth Women’s Institute- Open to women of all ages! Club activities typically include an activity and refreshments- for example, February’s activity was drumming. Membership fees are £6/per month. This club is the third Tuesday of every month, from 8-10pm @ Firthfields Community Centre, LS25 2HD.
Tea Dance- Tea dancing on Tuesdays from 2-4pm @ Garforth Welfare Hall LS25 1AA.

Garforth Ukelele Group (GULP)- Ukelele classes for people of all levels and open to all ages. Group sometimes plays at different events around the local area and goes for outings. Runs @ the Garforth Welfare Hall, LS25 1AA, on Tuesdays from 7.30-9pm.
U3A Theatre Group- A theatre-watching group for retirees. The group meet to watch play matinees at Leeds Grand Theatre, Leeds Playhouse, or the Bradford Alhambra. The group meet monthly, every second Tuesday of the month, at 2pm @ The Commercial, LS25 7AJ. It’s advised to sign up before attending.
Wednesday
Story and Rhyme Time- A club to share stories and rhymes with kids, with time to play. Free for under fives. Runs from 10.30-11.30am on Wednesday @ Garforth Library and One Stop Centre, LS25 1EH.
Knit, Stitch and Natter- A club to work on knitting and other craft projects, and of course having a chat as well! This is a club open to everyone. It runs from 10am-12pm on Wednesdays @ The Briggate, JD Wetherspoon, LS25 1DS. Look for the table with the knitting ladies!
PROBUS Garforth- A club that is open to retired businesspeople for socialising. Used to be just a club for men, but they are now accepting women are looking for widening participation. The club runs from 10am onwards every first and third Wednesday of the month, @ Barleyhill Working Men’s Club, LS25 1AU.
Patchwork People- A friendly quilting club for everyone that runs from 1.30-3.30pm @ Garforth Welfare Hall, LS25 1AA.

Thursday
U3a Art Appreciation Society- Open to new members who are retirees. Activities include illustrated talks, discussions, visits and documentaries about art. The club runs on the third Thursday of every month from 10am-12pm @ Barleyhill Working Men’s Club, LS25 1AU.

East Leeds Militaria Society Wargames Club- What it says on the tin- wargames! Open to all ages with at least 20 in attendance most nights. The club runs on Thursdays from 7.30-10pm @ Firthfields Community Centre, LS25 2HD.
Wise Moves Line Dancing- This group is open to everyone! It’s as it says on the tin- line dancing for all abilities, with easier dances early and more difficult dances as the night continues. It is £5/per class. This class runs from 7-10.30pm on a Thursday night @ Barleyhill Working Men’s Club, LS25 1AU.

Garforth Ukelele Group (GULP)- Look at Tuesday for more information! Runs a more relaxed session on Friday, ideal for beginners, at 9.45-11.15am @ Garforth Welfare Hall, LS25 1AA.
Bowmen of Leeds- An archery club that also practice on an outdoor range in summer. They run their indoor sessions on a Friday evening for Juniors at 6.30-8.10pm and for adults from 8.15-10pm @ Garforth Welfare Hall, LS25 1AA. It might be worth talking to their secretary about membership, since there are more places available on the outdoor range.

Every third Thursday of the month- There is a hearing aid maintenance clinic where people can drop in for hearing aid advice or repair for damaged aids @ Garforth Library, LS25 1EH.
Every day- There are useful community services and advice offered, such as requesting housing repair, buying RADAR keys, dropping off forms to apply for permits (check website for info), and reporting antisocial behaviour @ Garforth Library, LS25 1EH. Ask staff for details.
31st March, 7th April, and 14th April- There will be a mental health drop in service run by support workers between 1-3pm @ Garforth Library on the 31st March, Rothwell Community Hub on the 7th April, and Kippax Library on the 14th April.
