It has been recently announced on Facebook that Garforth’s Original Factory shop, like many of its predecessors, will be closing down and ceasing business operations. The date that has been given for the closure is Sunday 22nd March.
The Original Factory Shop has been trading in Garforth for the last twenty years, a strong constant in the constant shifting and changing nature of Main Street.
Many members of the community have commented to express their condolences.
In early 2026, it was announced that The Original Factory Shop chain was going into administration, with all online trading ceasing for the brand. As a result, many stores across the UK have been closed down, including The Original Factory Shop in nearby Kippax.
As Garforth’s beloved local store is shutting down, the entire stock is now trading at a discounted price, with as much as 60% off. Customers are encouraged to make the most of these discounts before saying goodbye for good.
