On the 26th September, at the Garforth Welfare Hall, LS25 1AA, from 1.30pm- 4pm (the doors are open at 1.30pm, the film starts at 2pm), there will be a special screening of the People’s Emergency Briefing- a 50 minute long documentary surrounding the climate crisis, and what that means for the lives of communities all around the UK.
After the film, there will be a discussion, with the chance to hear about things that are happening in Garforth to help tackle climate change.
The film covers topics like extreme weather, food security, health, and the cost of living. It is based off of the National Emergency Briefing in Westminster.
This free screening is lead by Eco-Friendly Garforth and Leeds Greenpeace. Similar showings of this documentary are happening all around the UK, organised by community groups that are focused on the environment and the effects of climate change.
Everyone is welcome and the documentary is suitable for those 16 and over. You can find tickets here.
