Hello, Garforth Gazette readers! The Easter holidays are on the horizon, and now that nearly everyone has a lot more time, I thought that I would highlight some events that are happening in and around the LS25 area at the end of March, start of April, and after Easter. Hopefully you might be able to catch some of these events 🙂
Wild Garlic Picking
Incredible Edible are running their garlic picking and foraging group again at the end of March, on the 29th specifically. It is advised to bring your own bag to the Garforth Community Wildlife Area, LS25 1PP. The event runs from 10am-12pm and sounds like fun!
The Simpsons Pub Quiz
On the 1st April, kicking off the month, there will be a pub quiz centred completely around The Simpsons, with themed drinks, stickers for everyone, and Simpsons prizes. If you’re a fan of the television show, why not show up and have some fun? Accepted teams are 1-6 people, and tickets are £4/per person.
The event takes place from 7pm onwards @ The Bar With No Name (listed as Blake’s Bar on Google Maps), LS25 1DS.
Garforth WMC Easter Egg Hunt
This one is mostly for kids, but adults can come along too! There will be an Easter Egg hunt, bingo for the children, and games in the Concert Room. There will also be a prize for the best Easter bonnet or hat! For members, the price is £2/per child and for non-members, the price is £3/per child. The event runs from 1-4pm and is open to all.
The event takes place on the 4th of April, or Easter Saturday, @ Barleyhill Working Men’s Club, LS25 1AU.
Garforth and District Lions Car Boot Sale
On Easter Sunday, there will be a large car boot sale running from 8am to 12pm. It should be quite a lively event, as those organised by the Lions usually are, and I’ve seen a lot of ads for this event out and about in Garforth too! For buyers, there is no fee to enter, so don’t worry about any additional ticket charges.
This event will be taking place @ the car park of Tesco Superstore, LS25 2DX.
The Lord Gascoigne Easter Events
On April 3rd at 8pm, there will be a Friday quiz night with chocolate eggs and a £50 jackpot cash prize.
On April 4th at 11am onwards, there will be an Easter egg hunt for the children including the Easter bunny, with eggs to be won!
On April 5th, at 11.30am onwards, there will be another Easter egg hunt, with a disco afterwards for everyone!
The Crusader Easter Events
The Crusader (LS25 2BY) is also hosting some Easter-themed events. There will be an Easter raffle in support of a children’s hospice. On Easter Sunday there is also a country music performance by Alex Wise in the beer garden.

Easter Party
There will be an Easter party for kids on the 5th of April at The Legion in Kippax (LS25 7HF), including a tombola, a raffle, and a ‘best Easter bonnet’ competition. Food will also be available for purchase! The event will run from 11am-4pm.
Sip and Paint
For the older ones, there will be a sip and paint event on the 9th April with the theme ‘The Hedgehog’ at Perfectly Batched Bar, LS25 2BF. All equipment is included, and the event runs from 7pm onwards. Tickets are £25.
